Jürgen Grönner began his studies in energy and process engineering in 1985 and later completed his doctorate at the Institute of Fluid Mechanics at the University of Essen.
He then worked for one year as part of an EU post-doctoral fellowship at the Von Karman Institute of Fluid Mechanics in Belgium. Subsequently, from 1995 to 2004, Grönner held various technical functions at Thyssen Gas in the planning and operation of natural gas pipelines and storage facilities as well as other gas-technical facilities.
From 2004 to 2009, he was responsible for the management of various areas of the Gas business unit as well as the acting head of business development in the Network's RWE board division.
He is Westnetz Managing Director for Regional Technology / Asset Management.
